For employers evaluating Truffle for the first time.

Truffle is candidate screening software that lets you design your own screening process. You combine one-way video interviews, talent assessments, and qualification checks into one workflow that fits the position. Truffle's AI transcribes, summarizes, and scores every response against your criteria. You get match scores, highlight clips, and AI summaries on every candidate, so you can separate real candidates from noise without outsourcing your judgment to AI.

The control tower, not the decision-maker

Most AI recruiting tools try to decide who moves forward for you. Truffle doesn't. It gives you the evidence to make faster human decisions on your own.

AI surfaces. Humans decide. Every screening workflow in Truffle is yours to design, and every advance, hold, or reject is your call.

What's in the platform

Three capabilities you can use on their own or combine. Pick what the position needs.

  • One-way video interviews. Candidates record themselves answering your questions on their own time. You see their communication and presence on camera, transcripts of everything they said, AI-surfaced 30-second Candidate Shorts, and a match score against your role criteria. See How do I add a one-way video interview to my position?.

  • Talent assessments. Three types: Personality (based on validated Big Five research), Work Scenarios (a situational judgment test built around how your team handles real scenarios), and Environment Fit (surfaces whether a candidate's preferences match the reality of the role). See What's the difference between Truffle's assessments?.

  • Qualification checks. Pre-interview filters for must-haves like work authorization or required certifications. Flag candidates who don't meet the bar, or knock them out entirely. See How do I add qualification checks?.

Each layer produces a different signal. Video interviews reveal communication. Assessments reveal judgment and work-style alignment. Qualification checks filter on facts. Use one or stack them.

What you actually do with Truffle

  1. Create a position. Set a title, paste a job description, and pick which screening layers apply. Truffle suggests interview questions from your JD. You edit.

  2. Invite candidates. One-click email invites, a share link for job boards, or a CSV paste for bulk. Candidates complete on any device.

  3. Candidates record. They see your welcome message, answer your questions on camera (or by audio), and submit. Typical interview is 10 to 20 minutes.

  4. Truffle surfaces the signal. Every candidate gets a match score, an AI summary, key insights across specific dimensions, Candidate Shorts pulled from their video, and a full transcript.

  5. You review and decide. Sort by match score, open Magic Review, and work through the queue with keyboard shortcuts (A, H, R). You make every call.

What Truffle isn't

  • Not a live-interview tool. Truffle records and surfaces. It's not a Zoom replacement for final-round conversations.

  • Not a technical-assessment platform. For coding exercises or take-home assignments, pair Truffle with a dedicated tool.

  • Not an ATS. Truffle doesn't run your full pipeline, track offers, or handle post-hire onboarding. It plugs into your ATS for the screening step. See How do I connect Truffle to other tools?.

  • Not automated hiring. Truffle never advances, holds, or rejects candidates on its own. Every decision is yours.
