How do I delete my Truffle account?

Account deletion is different from canceling. Canceling stops billing but keeps your data for 90 days. To permanently erase everything, email support with a deletion request; data is removed within 30 days.

Updated today

For employers who want their account and all associated data permanently removed from Truffle.

To permanently delete your Truffle account (not just stop billing), email [email protected] with the subject "Account deletion request" from the email address on the account. Include your company name. Deletion is confirmed within 30 days and removes every position, candidate record, interview recording, transcript, note, rating, and team member tied to your account. This is separate from canceling your subscription, which preserves your data for 90 days in case you come back.

Delete vs. cancel: pick the right one

Most users who say "delete my account" actually want one of three things. Pick the one that matches what you need.

  • Cancel my subscription (stop billing). Stops auto-renewal and keeps full access until the end of your current billing period, then moves the account to read-only for 90 days. Your data stays intact and you can resubscribe to restore it. See What plans does Truffle offer and how does billing work?.

  • Pause / take a break. Same as cancel. Cancel your subscription, come back within 90 days to pick up where you left off with all data restored.

  • Permanently delete everything (this article). Erases your company account, every position, every candidate, every interview recording, every note and rating, and every teammate. No recovery path. This is the option if a privacy law in your region gives users a right to have their data erased.

If you're not sure, canceling is the safer choice. You can always request deletion later.

How to request deletion

Because permanent deletion is irreversible, Truffle doesn't offer a self-serve button for it. Submit the request by email so it's logged and verified against the account owner.

  1. Send an email to [email protected] from the email address on your Truffle account.

  2. Subject line: "Account deletion request".

  3. In the body: include your company name, confirm you understand the deletion is permanent, and confirm you are the account owner (or have authorization from the owner).

  4. Truffle confirms receipt within one business day and schedules the deletion.

If the account has an active paid subscription, Truffle cancels billing first and stops any future charges before deletion runs.

What gets deleted

The deletion removes every record tied to your company account. This is total erasure, not archival.

  • Account records. Your company profile, billing history (beyond legally-required retention), API keys, webhooks, integrations.

  • Positions and interviews. Every position you created, every invite, every share link.

  • Candidates. Every candidate record, contact information, resume, video responses, transcripts, match scores, AI summaries, assessment results.

  • Team data. Teammate accounts, notes, ratings, scorecard submissions, review history.

Timing and what to expect

  • Day 0. You email the request. Access to the account continues unchanged.

  • Within 1 business day. Truffle confirms receipt and schedules the deletion.

  • Within 30 days. Deletion runs. After this point nothing can be recovered; the account email can be reused to sign up fresh if you ever come back.

  • Backups. Anonymized or legally-required records (tax, compliance) may be retained per Truffle's privacy policy, but no personally-identifiable candidate or company data survives deletion.

If you change your mind before the deletion runs, reply to the same email thread and Truffle can cancel the request.
