For employers considering a break from Truffle or canceling outright.
Canceling your Truffle subscription stops auto-renewal but keeps everything you've built intact. You have full access through the end of your current billing period, then the account becomes read-only for 90 days. Positions, candidates, interview recordings, transcripts, notes, star ratings, scorecards, and team members all stay exactly as you left them. If you resubscribe within those 90 days, everything is restored. After 90 days of inactivity, the data is deleted.
Timeline
Day 0. You click Cancel plan
Auto-renewal stops immediately. You won't be charged again.
You keep full access (invite, review, edit, everything) through the end of your current billing period.
Positions you've published stay live and continue accepting candidates until the period ends.
Billing period end. Read-only mode kicks in
Your account moves to a read-only state. What changes:
You can still sign in. Your dashboard, every position, every candidate profile, every video, every transcript, every note, every rating remains viewable.
You can't publish new positions or invite new candidates. Existing open positions stop accepting new invitations; existing invite links stop working.
Your team can still sign in and see everything, but can't modify anything.
During the 90-day window
Nothing changes. You can sign back in any time and look at past work. To start using Truffle again, just subscribe to a plan; access restores the moment payment goes through. No re-setup needed.
Day 90. Permanent deletion
If you haven't resubscribed by the 90-day mark, all account data is deleted per Truffle's data-retention policy. This includes positions, candidates, video responses, transcripts, and every piece of review work. You can still sign up again with the same email, but it starts as a fresh account with no history.
What specifically is preserved during the 90 days
During the read-only window, nothing about your existing data is modified or hidden.
Positions. Every position, including closed and archived ones, stays visible with its configuration, questions, and settings.
Candidates. Every candidate record stays, including contact info, qualification results, AI match scores and summaries, candidate shorts, assessment results, your team's ratings, and notes.
Interview recordings. Video and audio responses remain playable from the candidate profile.
Transcripts. AI-generated transcripts are preserved.
Team. Teammates can sign in and view with their existing roles; no access is stripped.
Settings. Your company profile, brand identity, email templates, notification prefs, and integrations stay configured.
Pause vs. cancel
Truffle doesn't have a separate "pause" button. canceling is the pause. Cancel, come back within 90 days, and your account picks up where it left off. The only difference from a longer break is that your subscription clock resets when you resubscribe.
If you want full deletion instead
If the 90-day window isn't what you want. For example, you want your candidate data erased immediately for compliance reasons. You need to request a full account deletion, which is a separate, permanent action. See How do I delete my Truffle account?.
