To delete a position, open its menu in the Positions list and choose Delete. Truffle asks you to confirm, then permanently removes the position from your workspace. Deletion can't be undone, so if you only want to stop new candidates while keeping everything on record, close or archive the position instead.
How to delete a position
You delete a position from the Positions list, not from inside the position.
In the sidebar, open Positions.
Find the position you want to remove.
Click the three-dot menu on the position's row.
Click Delete.
In the "Delete position?" dialog, click Delete to confirm, or Cancel to back out.
The confirmation dialog reminds you that the position will be permanently removed from your workspace and that the action can't be undone.
Which positions can be deleted
Delete is only available for positions that aren't actively accepting candidates. You can delete a position that is:
Draft — a position you started but never activated.
Closed — a position you've closed.
Archived — a closed position you've also archived.
An active position doesn't have a Delete option. To delete one, close it first, then delete it from its menu. Practice (demo) positions can always be deleted.
What deletion does
Deleting a position removes it and its candidate data from your workspace. Unlike closing or archiving, this is not a view-level action you can reverse. There's no undo and no restore in the app, so only delete a position you're certain you no longer need.
Important: if you might want the candidate records or the ability to reopen the role later, close or archive the position instead of deleting it. Both keep everything and can be undone.
Who can delete a position
Owners and Admins can delete any position in the workspace.
Other members can delete only positions they created.
Viewers can't delete positions.
Deleting versus closing or archiving
Deleting is permanent; closing and archiving are not.
Close a position to stop new candidates while keeping all the data and the ability to reopen.
Archive a closed position to also hide it from your default Positions list. It stays fully recoverable.
Delete a position only when you want it gone for good.
