When your screening includes a recorded video or audio interview, Truffle's AI scores your responses against a rubric built for the role. A human at the employer still makes the hiring decision. Before you start, you're asked to consent to this, and you can request a non-AI alternative if you'd rather not be scored by AI.
What AI review means for your interview
On the welcome screen, before you begin, an About this interview section explains how AI is used: the employer uses Truffle, an AI-assisted interview platform, and AI scores what you say against a rubric for the role. A human at the employer makes the hiring decision, not the AI. For more detail, select Learn how AI is used on the same screen.
This section only applies to the recorded interview part of your screening. If your screening includes only assessments (personality, work scenarios, or environment fit) with no recorded interview, you won't see this AI-scoring notice, and your consent covers only standard data processing under Truffle's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Giving your consent
Before you can continue past the welcome screen, you need to check a required box:
I have read the above and consent to AI scoring of my interview and to my information being processed by Truffle on behalf of [the employer], in line with the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
You can't continue to your interview until this box is checked.
Requesting a non-AI alternative
If you'd rather not be scored by AI, select Prefer not to be scored by AI? Request an alternative, next to the AI notice on the welcome screen. This opens a short form asking for your name, email, and, optionally, why you're requesting an alternative.
After you select Submit request, the employer is notified that you'd prefer not to be scored by AI. You'll see a confirmation screen letting you know the employer will be in touch, and it's safe to close the tab. Check your email for a confirmation as well.
Because every employer handles alternative requests on their own timeline, Truffle can't tell you what happens next or when you'll hear back. The employer is the right contact for that.
