Truffle connects to Indeed in two ways, and both are set in Indeed's own job settings. Indeed can email each application to your position's Truffle import address, and Truffle imports the applicant and sends their interview invite to them in Indeed. Or Indeed's Apply button can send candidates to your Truffle application link, so they apply in Truffle.

Every position in Truffle has its own import address. Add it to the job in Indeed and every application arrives in Truffle. Truffle's interview invite then reaches the applicant in their Indeed inbox.

​Important: Add the address in Indeed. Don't forward Indeed's emails yourself. Indeed only delivers Truffle's invites to applicants when the import address is on the job. If you forward Indeed's emails from your own inbox, by hand or with a rule, the applicant still imports, but Indeed won't deliver their invite.

Indeed then emails your import address an invitation to create an Indeed account. You can ignore it. It has no effect on imports or invites, and Truffle shows it on the Auto-import card so you know it arrived.

Most Indeed applicants arrive with an Indeed address, not their personal email. Truffle sends their invite, and any reminders, from your position's import address. That is what lets Indeed deliver it. The message appears in the applicant's Indeed inbox, from your company.

When an applicant replies, the reply stays in Indeed, in the same conversation. Read and answer it there. Truffle also lists it under Import activity as "Replied in Indeed — read it there".

If Truffle cannot deliver an invite to an Indeed applicant, it holds the invite back and tells you why. This happens when the import address was not added in Indeed for that job, for example because the application was forwarded. Message the applicant in Indeed, or add their personal email to their profile.

Indeed does not send resumes with its application emails, so ask for one in Truffle. Turn on Resume scoring when you build the position, and candidates add their resume on the last step of their interview. To make the resume required before a candidate can submit, turn on Require a resume to submit next to the resume criteria.

If a candidate is on their phone and cannot upload a resume right away, Truffle reminds them to add it later.

Once Truffle has the resume, it saves it to the candidate's profile, scores it against your resume criteria, and picks up any personal email address on it. From then on, Truffle emails the candidate at that personal address.

Open the job in Indeed and check both settings in the steps above. In almost every case, the import address was added but Send an individual email each time someone applies was left unticked.

Also check Import activity under Get candidates in Truffle. It lists every email your import address received and what happened to it.

The import address is probably not on the job in Indeed. The applications may have been forwarded from an inbox, or the address may have been added to a different job. Add the address to that job using the steps above. Applicants who arrive after that get their invites. For earlier applicants, message them in Indeed or add a personal email to their profile.

This is expected, because Indeed does not send resumes. Turn on Resume scoring for the position, and candidates add their resume on the last step of their interview.

Use this if you would rather candidates apply in Truffle directly. When the Apply button goes to Truffle, every candidate applies in one place.

The Apply button now sends candidates straight to your Truffle interview.

Use this only if Indeed will not enable Apply on company site for your account.

Note: With this fallback, Indeed's Apply button still collects applications on Indeed, so your applications split across both places. Applicants who apply on Indeed still import and get their invite in Indeed, as long as the import address is set up on the job.

Some Indeed posting flows offer only an application email, not a URL. Enter your Truffle import address there, then finish the individual-email setup from the steps above.
