How do I connect Truffle to Pinpoint?

Connect Pinpoint on any paid plan. Create a Truffle key, paste it into the Truffle plugin in Pinpoint, and run screenings from Pinpoint.

Connecting Truffle to Pinpoint lets you run Truffle resume screens and interviews from inside Pinpoint and see the results on the candidate's Pinpoint record, without switching tabs. Setup is a one-time handshake: Truffle creates a key for you, and you paste it into the Truffle plugin in Pinpoint. Owners and Admins on a paid Truffle plan can connect it.

Before you start

To connect Pinpoint, make sure you have:

  • The Owner or Admin role in Truffle — only owners and admins can connect Pinpoint.

  • A paid Truffle plan — integrations are available on paid plans. A free trial cannot connect Pinpoint.

  • The Truffle plugin added in Pinpoint — the key you create goes into its configuration.

  • Open Truffle positions set up for what you will run — resume criteria for resume screening, an interview or assessments for the interview.

You set this up once. After it is connected, recruiters work entirely inside Pinpoint.

Step 1: Create your Truffle key

The connection is a two-part handshake: Truffle gives you a key, and you hand it to the Truffle plugin in Pinpoint. Truffle asks for nothing from Pinpoint.

Part A: Create the key in Truffle

In Truffle, go to Settings → Integrations & API and open the Pinpoint card.

  1. Under WORKSPACE, choose Integrations & API, then open the Integrations tab.

  2. Find Pinpoint under Available and click Connect. The Connect Pinpoint window opens and explains what happens next.

  3. Click Create key.

  4. The Pinpoint connected panel shows Your Truffle key. Click the copy button.

Important: Truffle shows the key only once, for security. Copy it before you click Done. The panel only closes with Done, so a stray click cannot lose the key. If you do miss it, see Reconnect below.

Part B: Paste the key into Pinpoint

In Pinpoint, open the Truffle plugin's configuration and paste the key.

  1. In Pinpoint, go to Integrations in the admin navigation and open the My Plugins tab.

  2. Click Truffle to open its configuration.

  3. Paste your key into the Truffle API key field.

  4. Click Save.

That is the full handshake. Back in Truffle, Pinpoint now sits under Connected with a green Connected pill and No activity yet, which changes to the date of the last activity once the first action runs.

Step 2: Screen a candidate from Pinpoint

Truffle appears as two actions on every Pinpoint candidate, matching Truffle's two screening steps. Open the candidate on the job, click the ⋯ menu next to their name, and choose:

  • Screen resume with Truffle — scores the resume Pinpoint holds against the position's resume criteria. The candidate is not contacted. The resume must be a PDF or DOCX file of up to 5 MB.

  • Send Truffle interview — emails the candidate Truffle's interview invitation, with any assessments the position includes in the same link.

Each action asks you to pick the Truffle position to screen against. The list shows only open positions that are set up for that step. Closed, archived or expired positions refuse new sends.

Positions are always created and configured in Truffle. If a position is missing from the list, its screening step is not set up yet: open the position in Truffle and add resume criteria or an interview.

Pinpoint can also run a Truffle action for you when a candidate enters a pipeline stage. You set that up in Pinpoint, on the job's stage.

Step 3: Review results in Pinpoint

Results appear under the candidate's Assessments in Pinpoint as soon as scoring or the interview completes. Each record shows Scored and opens an Assessment Details panel.

  • A resume screen shows the result as a match level, whether your requirements were met, and the evidence found for each of your criteria.

  • An interview shows the interview score and tier, with assessments as a tier.

Every record has a Click here to view link to the full report in Truffle, where the recordings, transcripts and assessment detail live. Scores never reject anyone: you decide what happens next in Pinpoint.

Manage the connection

The Pinpoint row in Truffle shows the health of the connection and lets you refresh or remove it. You manage everything from Settings → Integrations & API → Integrations.

Connection status

The row shows a status pill and when results last flowed:

  • Connected (green) — the integration is healthy.

  • Degraded (amber) — results are flowing but Truffle has seen a problem. Check the message on the row.

  • Action needed (red) — results have stopped. Check the message on the row, and reconnect if needed.

The row also shows the date of the last activity, or No activity yet if no action has run.

Reconnect

Reconnect re-opens the connect flow. Click Create key and Truffle shows a new key once.

Note: Your old key still works for 7 days after you reconnect, so screenings already underway keep reporting back. Paste the new key into the Truffle plugin in Pinpoint before then.

Disconnect

Disconnect revokes the Truffle key at once. The Truffle actions in Pinpoint stop working and results stop flowing back. This cannot be undone. To connect again later, create a new key and paste it into Pinpoint.
