Set a completion deadline on an invitation

Per-invite deadlines: each candidate's link expires on its own date.

When you invite candidates directly (single or bulk), you can give each invited candidate a completion deadline. Their interview link stops accepting submissions after the deadline.

How to set a deadline on an invite

  1. Open the Invite candidates form.

  2. Toggle Completion deadline on.

  3. Pick a date and timezone.

  4. Send the invitation.

Where the deadline shows

  • In the invitation email body, inline.

  • On the candidate-facing landing page.

  • On the Finish later screen.

  • On the candidate row in your candidates list, with a Deadline passed badge once the deadline lapses.

  • In any reminder emails the candidate receives.

What happens at the deadline

  • The candidate's link stops accepting their submission.

  • A 24-hour warning modal fires if they try to leave the screening with less than a day remaining.

  • Their candidate row shows a Deadline passed badge.

Things to know

  • The Completion deadline form fields reset between invitations, so a previous deadline doesn't carry over to the next candidate.

  • The timezone picker uses IANA names like Europe/Warsaw, and handles DST automatically.

  • Past dates are blocked at validation.

  • If you use custom email templates, the deadline still appears via the new {deadline_date} merge tag, with a fallback block for templates that don't include the tag.
