For employers sanity-checking a position before it goes live to real candidates.
Before activating a position, it's worth running through it as a candidate would. To catch awkward question phrasing, verify timing feels right, and confirm your branding looks how you want. Truffle has a Preview interview button on Step 4 that opens the position as a candidate would experience it, through a private link only you can access.
How to preview
To preview, open the position on Step 4 and click Preview interview. The preview opens in a new browser tab.
Open the position from the Positions list.
Navigate to Step 4: Review and activate.
Click Preview interview.
A new tab opens with the candidate-side interview flow. Walk through it as a candidate would.
The preview uses a private, single-use link tied to your account. Candidates can't access it, and running through preview doesn't create any candidate record in your dashboard.
What you can test in preview
Preview shows you the full candidate experience. Everything real candidates will see, at real timing.
Welcome screen. Your logo, brand color, welcome message (video or text), estimated duration.
Personal data collection. What info candidates are asked (name, email, phone, location).
Qualification checks. If enabled, see the pre-interview filter questions in order.
Mic and camera check. The device-permission flow candidates go through.
Video interview. Answer your own questions on video or audio to verify thinking time, time limits, and retake behavior all feel right.
Assessments. Complete Personality, Work Scenarios, and/or Environment Fit sections if you've enabled them.
Completion screen. Your completion message + redirect URL (if you've set one).
What to check during preview
A good preview catches problems before they become candidate-facing bugs.
Do questions read naturally when spoken out loud? Custom questions often look fine in text and feel awkward when you record a response.
Is thinking time long enough? Answer one of your questions and see whether 2 minutes is too much, too little, or right.
Does the branding feel aligned with your company? Logo sizing, color accents, welcome video tone.
Does the welcome video (if you recorded one) play correctly? Check it on whatever device a candidate might use.
Does the redirect URL work? If you're sending candidates to a careers page or thank-you page, confirm the link is correct.
After preview
Go back to the Truffle tab and edit anything you want to change. Preview is non-destructive. Nothing you did in the preview is saved as real candidate data. When you're ready, click Activate interview and Truffle generates the real share link.
