For employers interpreting Truffle's AI-generated highlight clips on the candidate profile.
Candidate Shorts are AI-selected highlight clips from a candidate's video interview. Short moments where they demonstrated a specific trait or competency, tagged with a label (Career Alignment, Problem Solving, Communication Skills, etc.), timestamped, and transcribed. They're on the Overview tab of every candidate profile so you can understand a candidate without watching their full interview.
What Candidate Shorts contain
Each short is a specific moment Truffle's AI picked out of the interview because it demonstrates something noteworthy.
Video clip. Plays in-place on the Overview tab.
Topic label. For example, Career Alignment, Team Contribution, Problem Solving. Labels come from a 33-competency library that Shorts use to tag moments. (This is separate from the 32-dimension library behind the match percentage — different signals, different models.)
Timestamped transcript. Text of what the candidate said, synced to the video. Click any timestamp to jump the video there.
"Why this matters" explanation. One sentence on why this moment is noteworthy for the role.
How to use Candidate Shorts
Candidate Shorts are built for scanning. Read the transcript first to decide whether to play the clip.
Open the candidate's Overview tab.
Scroll to Candidate shorts.
Read the topic label and the "Why this matters" sentence.
If it looks interesting, click the timestamp to play that moment.
Click Hide transcript to expand the video; click Download to save the full interview for offline viewing.
If you want the complete interview instead, open the Screening tab. Full video, full transcript, question-by-question.
When Candidate Shorts won't appear
If you didn't enable video recording for the position (audio-only interviews), there's no video to clip from. The Candidate shorts section won't appear on the Overview tab.
