Truffle's personality assessment is an optional component you can add to any screening. When enabled, candidates complete a validated Big Five (IPIP) personality questionnaire alongside their video interview. Results appear in Magic Review and the Assessments tab as an independent signal, separate from your video match score.
Enabling the personality assessment
Open the Create Interview wizard for a new job.
Navigate to Step 3: Configure.
In the Assessments panel, toggle on Personality Assessment.
For each of the five traits (Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism), select your preferred alignment range.
Choose the assessment length.
Continue through the wizard and publish as normal.
What candidates experience
After completing the video portion of their screening, candidates move to the personality assessment. They answer a set of questions across the five traits.
If they need to stop, they can use Finish later to save their progress and return at any time. The candidate welcome screen shows total estimated time including the assessment so candidates know what to expect before they start.
Reviewing results
Once a candidate completes the assessment, results are available in two places:
Assessments tab on the candidate profile: a full trait breakdown with alignment indicators
Magic Review: a Personality review card showing how the candidate's profile compares to your configured preferences
Personality results are an independent signal. They're never combined with the video match score.
