Truffle's reviews system lets each team member evaluate candidates independently. You submit your own star rating, recommendation, and optional scorecard scores before seeing what anyone else thinks. After submitting, the Team section unlocks to show where the team agrees and disagrees.
This article explains how to submit reviews, set up scorecards, and read the team roll-up.
Before you start
You need Member, Admin, or Owner access to a position
Candidates must have completed their interview before reviews are available
Scorecards are optional and configured per position
How to submit a review
Go to Positions and open the position you want to review candidates for.
Click a candidate's name to open their profile.
In the evaluation panel on the right, find the Your Evaluation section.
Set your star rating (1 to 5 stars).
Select a recommendation: Move forward, Unsure, or Pass.
If a scorecard is configured, rate each criterion with stars.
Your review is saved automatically.
After you submit, the Team section unlocks and shows aggregated feedback from all reviewers.
What you see in the evaluation panel
The evaluation panel has three sections:
Your Evaluation
Your individual star rating, recommendation, and scorecard ratings (if a scorecard is configured). Each reviewer's rating is their own and cannot be overwritten by other team members.
Team
This section is locked until you submit your own review. Once unlocked, it shows:
Recommendation distribution — Labeled pills showing how many reviewers chose Move forward, Unsure, or Pass
Average star rating — The team's average rating with half-star precision
Per-criterion averages — If a scorecard is configured, the average rating for each criterion across all reviewers
Individual reviewer details — Each reviewer's name, recommendation, and star rating
Notes
Shared notes visible to all team members. Notes are separate from reviews. Add a note to share context, questions, or observations with your team.
How to set up a scorecard
Scorecards let you define custom evaluation criteria for a position. Every reviewer rates candidates against the same criteria.
Go to the position's Settings tab.
Find the Reviews & scoring section.
Click Set up scorecard.
Add criteria that matter for the role (for example, "Communication skills" or "Technical depth").
Reorder criteria by dragging them.
Click Save.
You can also add a scorecard during interview creation in the Review step.
Important: Once team members submit criterion ratings, the scorecard locks. You cannot add, remove, or reorder criteria after ratings are submitted.
How the Reviews column works
The candidate table includes a Reviews column that shows review status at a glance:
Awaiting your review — You haven't submitted a review yet
Review count — Shows how many team members have reviewed (for example, "2 of 3 reviewed")
The Reviews column is hidden on the Incomplete tab because candidates who haven't finished their interview are not ready for review.
Troubleshooting
I don't see the evaluation panel
The evaluation panel appears only for candidates who have completed their interview. If you're a Member, you need access to the position — either as the position owner or through workspace-visible access.
The Team section is locked
The Team section unlocks after you submit your own review. This prevents your evaluation from being influenced by other reviewers.
I can't edit the scorecard
Scorecards lock once any team member submits criterion ratings for a candidate in that position. This keeps the criteria consistent across all reviews.
