Supported operating systems and browsers

Find out which devices, browsers, and internet speeds work best with Truffle video interviews.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Truffle video interviews work on most modern devices without any special equipment or downloads. You'll need a device with a camera and microphone, plus a stable internet connection. This guide covers all supported systems and browsers to ensure your interview experience runs smoothly.

What you'll need

  • A phone, tablet, or computer with video capabilities

  • A built-in or external microphone

  • Internet connection with at least 5 Mbps upload and download speed

  • A supported browser (see recommendations below)

Recommended browsers and operating systems

For the best experience, we recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome on any device.

Mac OS 15 (iMac, MacBook, MacBook Air)

  • Google Chrome

  • Safari

Windows 11 (Desktop and laptop PC)

  • Google Chrome (recommended)

  • Microsoft Edge

iOS 18 (iPad and iPhone)

  • Google Chrome

  • Safari

Android devices (Samsung, HTC, and others)

  • Google Chrome

Note: This isn't an exhaustive list, but what we recommend.

Internet connection requirements

A stable internet connection is essential for completing your video interview without interruptions.

Minimum requirements

  • Upload speed: 5 Mbps minimum

  • Download speed: 5 Mbps minimum

Important: Both upload and download speeds must meet the minimum requirement. If your connection is slower than 5 Mbps, you'll need to find an alternative connection before starting your interview.

How to test your internet speed

  1. Visit a speed testing website such as speedtest.net

  2. Click Go or Start Test

  3. Check that both upload and download speeds are at least 5 Mbps

  4. If speeds are too slow, try moving closer to your router or switching to a different network

Troubleshooting

If your specific device or operating system isn't listed above, you can still try accessing Truffle with a supported browser. As long as you're using one of the recommended browsers in its latest version, the interview should work properly.

Where can I access a suitable device?

If you don't have access to a compatible device, consider these options:

  • Public libraries often provide computers with internet access

  • Schools or universities may have computer labs available

  • Internet cafes offer hourly computer rental

  • Friends or family members may be willing to lend their device

Tip: Book time in advance at public facilities, as availability may be limited during peak hours.

Browser isn't working properly?

If you experience issues with your current browser:

  1. Clear your browser cache and cookies

  2. Disable browser extensions temporarily

  3. Try using Google Chrome in incognito/private mode

  4. Switch to a different supported browser
