Once you've found the right candidate or decided to pause hiring, it's time to close your interview. You can also archive closed positions to keep your list clean. This guide walks you through both.
When to close an interview
Close your interview when:
You've hired someone for the position.
The role is no longer needed.
The position requirements have changed significantly.
Keep it active when:
You're temporarily pausing recruitment.
You're waiting for budget approval.
You need to review current candidates before proceeding.
Steps to close an interview
Find the interview you want to close.
Click the three dots menu on the right side.
Select Close Position.
Choose your closing reason
Select whether you hired someone (Yes/No).
If No, choose the main reason: Position filled, Position no longer needed, Role changed significantly, or Other.
If you filled the position, specify how: Hired from applicants, Hired externally, or Internal transfer.
Confirm and archive
The position gets marked as closed.
The selected candidate's status updates to hired.
The position closes to new applications.
Optional: Check Archive this position to move it to your archives immediately.
What happens after closing
The share link immediately stops accepting new candidates.
Current candidates can no longer access the interview.
All candidate data remains in your account.
Completed interviews stay viewable in your dashboard.
The closed position detail view shows the candidate list directly (no tabs).
Note: Closing an interview doesn't delete any data.
Archiving positions
Archiving moves a closed position out of your main list without deleting anything. Use it to declutter once you're done reviewing candidates.

How to archive
Find the closed position in your list.
Click the three dots menu.
Select Archive.
The position disappears from your default view.

How to find archived positions
Go to your Interviews list.
Open the Status filter.
Select Archived.
How to unarchive
Filter to see archived positions.
Click the three dots menu on the archived position.
Select Unarchive.
The position returns to your closed positions list. You can then reopen it if needed.

Who can archive
Only position owners, organization owners, and organization admins can archive or unarchive positions.
