Why branding matters
Customizing your interview branding helps you:
Make a professional first impression on candidates.
Reinforce your company identity throughout the application process.
Create a cohesive experience from your job posting to the interview.
Show candidates you care about their experience.
Branding is optional but takes only five minutes to set up and creates a more polished, personalized candidate experience.
Where to find branding settings
Branding settings appear in the Review and activate step when creating or editing an interview.
Navigate to Step 3 (Review and activate) in your interview setup.
Scroll to the Enhance your interview (optional) section.
Click Add next to Customize brand experience.
This opens the branding editor with three customization options.
Add a welcome message
The welcome message appears at the start of the interview before candidates see any questions. Use it to:
Introduce your company and team.
Explain what candidates can expect in the interview.
Make candidates feel welcomed and comfortable.
Set the tone for your company culture.
Record a video welcome message
In the Welcome message section, click Record Video.
Click Allow Camera Access
Record your message using your webcam.
Review and re-record if needed.
Save your video.
Video message tips:
Keep it under 60 seconds.
Introduce yourself and your role.
Thank candidates for applying.
Explain the interview format briefly.
Example script: "Hi, I'm Sarah, the hiring manager for this role. Thanks for taking the time to apply. You're about to answer five questions about your experience. Take your time, and feel free to use one retake per question if needed. We're excited to learn more about you."
Write a text welcome message
In the Welcome message section, click Add Text.
Type your message in the text field.
Save your message.
Text message tips:
Keep it brief and friendly.
Use your company's voice and tone.
Set clear expectations about the interview.
Example text: "Welcome to the Acme Corp interview! You'll answer five questions about your experience and approach to customer support. Each question allows 2 minutes of thinking time and 2 minutes to record your answer. You can re-record once if needed. Good luck!"
Upload your logo and choose colors
Branding creates visual consistency between your company website and the interview experience.
Use your default company logo
Truffle automatically pulls your company logo from your workspace settings. If you've already uploaded a logo in company settings, it appears here as the Default Company Logo.
The logo dimensions are shown below the logo (e.g., "309 × 132px").
Upload a different logo for this job
If you need a job-specific logo (for example, a division brand or recruiting campaign):
Click Use different logo for this job.
Upload your logo file (PNG, JPG, or SVG).
Recommended size: 300 × 100px with a transparent background.
Maximum file size: 2MB.
Logo best practices:
Use a transparent background so the logo works on any color.
Upload a high-resolution file for sharp display on all devices.
Choose a horizontal logo format rather than square for better fit.
Set your primary color
Your primary color appears in buttons, progress bars, and other interface elements throughout the interview.
Click the color picker square next to Primary color.
Choose a color from the picker or enter a hex code (e.g.,
#2563eb).The preview updates automatically.
Color tips:
Use your brand's primary color for consistency.
Ensure the color has enough contrast against white backgrounds.
Test that text is readable over the color you choose.
Create a completion message
The completion message appears after candidates finish all questions. Use it to:
Thank candidates for their time.
Set expectations for next steps.
Keep candidates engaged while you review their responses.
Record a video completion message
In the Completion message and redirect section, click Record Video.
Record your thank-you message.
Save your video.
Video message tips:
Keep it under 30 seconds.
Thank candidates for completing the interview.
Tell them when they'll hear back.
Encourage them to reach out with questions.
Example script: "Thanks for completing the interview! We'll review your responses within the next week and reach out if we'd like to move forward. Feel free to email us at [email protected] if you have any questions."
Write a text completion message
In the Completion message and redirect section, click Add Text.
Type your message.
Save your message.
Example text: "Thank you for completing your interview! We'll review all applications and reach out within 5 business days if we'd like to schedule a follow-up conversation. We appreciate your interest in Acme Corp."
Set up a redirect URL
After seeing the completion message, candidates are automatically redirected after 5 seconds. You can control where they go.
Add a redirect URL
In the Redirect URL (optional) field, enter the full URL where you want to send candidates.
Common redirect destinations:
Your company careers page.
A thank-you landing page with more information.
Your company homepage.
A page with employee testimonials or company culture content.
Example: https://www.acme.com/careers/thank-you
[Screenshot: Redirect URL field with note "Candidates are automatically redirected after 5 seconds"]
Skip the redirect
If you leave the redirect URL blank, candidates see the completion message and can close the window when ready. They won't be automatically sent to another page.
Save your branding settings
After customizing your welcome message, logo, colors, and completion message:
Click Save and close at the bottom right of the branding editor.
Your settings are saved and will appear in the interview immediately.
All new candidates who start the interview will see your branded experience.
Best practices
Keep messages short. Candidates want to start the interview, not watch long introductions. Aim for under 60 seconds for videos and 3 to 4 sentences for text.
Match your company voice. Use the same tone and language candidates see on your website and job postings.
Set clear expectations. Tell candidates how many questions they'll answer, how long it takes, and when they'll hear back.
Test the experience. Click Preview interview after setting up branding to see exactly what candidates will experience.
Update the redirect URL. Make sure the page you're sending candidates to is live and looks professional. A broken link or generic page undermines the branded experience you just created.
Be authentic in video messages. Candidates appreciate seeing a real person from the hiring team. Don't worry about being too polished—genuine warmth matters more than perfect delivery.
