You can record yourself asking a question in Truffle to make your interviews more personal and engaging.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

This feature helps candidates feel more connected and confident — and often leads to better answers.

What you can do

  • Record a short video directly inside Truffle using your webcam and microphone

  • Add one video per question to give context or set expectations

  • Edit or remove the video anytime before sending the interview

How to add a video question

  1. Go to your Interview and click Add questions

  2. Choose or create a question

  3. Click the ⋯ (three dots) beside the question

  1. Select Add video

  2. Record your clip (keep it under 2 minutes for best engagement)

  3. Click Use this recording and save your changes

Your video will appear alongside the text question for candidates to view before they respond.

Tips for a great video question

  • Keep your tone friendly and conversational

  • Look directly at the camera and speak clearly

  • Mention what you’d like to hear in the answer (e.g., “Walk me through the situation and what you learned.”)

  • Record in a quiet, well-lit space

  • Don’t overthink it — candidates appreciate authenticity

Who can see the video

Only candidates invited to that interview can view your video. You and your team can preview or replace it anytime.
