When to use video questions
Video questions work best when you want to:
Show candidates your company culture and team personality.
Explain complex scenarios that need visual context.
Build rapport before live interviews.
Reduce candidate anxiety by letting them see who's hiring.
Each question can have one video attachment. Videos appear alongside the text question so candidates can watch before responding.
Record a video question
Navigate to your interview and click Add questions.
Select an existing question or create a new one.
Click the ⋯ (three dots) menu next to your question.
Select Add video.
Allow browser access to your camera and microphone when prompted.
Click Start recording.
Record your question (keep under 2 minutes).
Click Stop recording when finished.
Review your video and click Use this recording.
Click Save changes.
Your video now appears with the question text. Candidates see both when they access the interview.
Tips for effective video questions
Technical setup
Test your camera and microphone before recording.
Record in a quiet space with good lighting.
Position your camera at eye level.
Check your background is professional and distraction-free.
Content and delivery
Start by introducing yourself and your role.
Speak directly to the camera as if talking to the candidate.
Keep your tone conversational and friendly.
State clearly what you want in the response ("Walk me through your approach and what the outcome was").
Aim for 30 to 90 seconds. Maximum 2 minutes.
What makes a good video question
Instead of reading the text question verbatim, add context:
"This question is about problem-solving. I'm curious how you approach unexpected challenges."
"We value collaboration here. Tell me about a time you had to work through disagreement with a colleague."
Manage your video questions
Edit or replace a video
Go to your interview and find the question with video.
Click the ⋯ menu next to the question.
Select Replace video to record a new one.
Follow the recording steps above.
Click Save changes.
Remove a video
Click the ⋯ menu next to the question.
Select Remove video.
Confirm the deletion.
Click Save changes.
The text question remains. Only the video is removed.

Only candidates invited to the specific interview can view your videos.
Your hiring team can preview all videos in the interview.
Videos are not shared across interviews or questions.
